University of Northern Iowa Campanile
The university's campanile, built in 1926, has a whopping 47 bells. The bell tower that's beloved by all students, faculty, and alumni, is currently undergoing construction. In fall 2022, some of the bells were removed and taken away to be fixed, so we won't be hearing the bells ring for a while. The university also has plans to renovate the interior to make it more comfortable for the carillonneurs, secure technology to livecast performances, and update the landscaping of the plaza area surrounding the campanile.
